Was hoping to get some help finding a song for my mom. The only line she remembers is, “I’d rather be a beggar living in a cardboard box…” It was sang by a man named Ralph Gilliam Jr. at Greater Life Fellowship in Corbin, KY. Keep in mind this was about 25 years ago.
She said it’s possible that the man may have wrote the song himself, but we’re not sure.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: I’d Rather Be a Beggar Living in a Cardboard Box
We found the lyrics! However, we don’t have the melody. I would greatly appreciate help with finding the melody, now the lyrics are found.
1)
Though sometimes awkward, and heavy my cross
I will not lay it down until he satisfies.
And I cannot repay him, with the good deeds
I've done, for, the times that he's hurt when,
in sorrow I've cried.
c)
He's good in the storm just as good in the shelter
He's good through the laughter and good thru
the pain
tho sometimes the world may make my God
seem smaller
there's one thing for certain, my God doesn't
change.
2)
I'd rather be, just a poor beggar with a cardboard
box to call my home
than to trade all the blessings my Lord
has to offer than when he would call
be left here alone.
