This was the song I had done for all of the children who have lost all of their mothers, oh and by the way, I am Currently playing GTA5 Online, but don't worry. I am playing 1950s to 1960s Southern Gospel Music to lighten the load of sin that the game is living in. I am driving all of my 1950s cars such as the Declassee Tornado (1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air) Willard Eudora (1959-1960 Buick 225) Albany Brigham (1959 Cadillac- Ecto one) the vapid Peyote (mix of the 1957 Lincoln and of the 1955-1960 Ford Thunderbirds) It's a shame to what this world has come to when it comes to games, but the southern gospel music playing in the other tab helps me stay calm.

Oh and also pray for our family, my dad is currently becoming very agitated very easily, and I haven't been to church in 2 years, and I've been asking him to take me, but every time I mention Jesus it's like he shuts down and becomes agitated and breathes heavy like he's mad and he'll have an attitude with me even when I'm calm. Pray For us. I'll post more details if anyone responds

That's wonderful Wyatt! By all means, please feel free to post the link here once you've been able to upload it online.

I looked a little more online for places where you can get help critiquing your singing, and sadly it looks like a lot of the discussion boards that had been dedicated to Southern Gospel are no longer active. A lot of this is simply because the older generation is passing, and why it's so important that young people (like you) can carry the torch forward.

One option that you could try is Reddit. While Reddit is filled with a lot of garbage these days, the r/singing discussion board looks like it has a lot of people on it that provide genuinely helpful and constructive feedback for aspiring singers. I would definitely post some of your videos there. Most of the singers are asking for feedback on secular music, but I'm sure many (if not most) especially in the South probably got their start with gospel and church choir music.

If you're able to get onto Facebook, this may be another good resource that's more Christian-oriented.

Oh and guess what? My friend is supposed to be filming me tomorrow singing "Mother Prayed For Me" as an early mothers day tribute to all the people that have lost their mothers. My heart goes out to all the people who have.

Thank you so so so much. This song is so true for me, except the Mother part but I did call her Granny, so I always replace Mother and momma with Granny. But thank you so so so much.

Hi Wyatt.

I posted the lyrics here. Thanks for requesting them; it's been years since my mom went back to be with the Lord, but these lyrics still hit home.

You are always welcome here—this thread is yours, and I for one would love to follow your progress! :) Like I said, copy the link so you'll always be able to find it even after I move it.

Thanks for asking about the lyrics for the Oak Ridge Boys' "Someday". You're right that it was a lot of work to find the lyrics, but boy was that a happy 30 minutes I just spent listening to classic renditions by the Oak Ridge Boys, Ernie Haase, and others.

Here's a thread I posted with the full lyrics, along with some YouTube videos. Enjoy!

Alrighty, thank you. And I'm so sorry for bugging you but I've just recently found a song called Someday by the Oakridge boys and it is stuck in my head. I understand that this a lot of work to do but could you find the lyrics. And if possible just talk to yall if and when I feel down or stressed.

I mean to bookmark it in your Web browser (which is the equivalent of 1950s tech on a Web browser :D). If you're using Chrome, you can click the "star" in the browser address bar. That'll save it as a "bookmark" so you can go back to this thread directly. Alternatively, click on the words "Board index" in the breadcrumb trail (Home > Board Index) to find the Hymn Discussion board.

As for not being allowed to access Facebook, the best advice I can give is as a parent myself.

Talk with your parents about what you're looking to achieve, and feel free to show them my advice from this thread. Facebook is going to be a much better resource for you than any other site, including TikTok, Reddit, and even this site for finding people to collaborate with musically, critiquing your performances, getting professional advice, and making connections (which are critical if you want to explore songwriting or more serious performance improvements). Show them that you'll be responsible, and share with them your progress. I don't know your parents, but if my kid did that with me, I'd very gladly support it.

If they say no, then that's fine. But unfortunately, I don't think the right people are necessarily seeing this post here.

To be honest, I think TikTok is much more harmful than Facebook to a lot of people...but I understand it's unavoidable that all your friends are likely there. If you can shine the light there, that's great. But I don't think you'll find many who can help with gospel music questions.
