Here is my favorite rendition of this song, sung by Dale Shelnut and The Jubilee Choir. From the album Gospel Singing Jubilee.

My second favorite rendition, by Mahalia Jackson.

Thanks Camille

One of the most beloved and well known voices for this song is George Beverly Shea, who was still singing and traveling with the Billy Graham crusades in the 1970's, as far as I know of. However, if you just want to hear it without buying anything, look for this title on YouTube: In Times Like These https://youtu.be/l982neCQiXo . There is also a lovely acappella redition here: https://youtu.be/j3jK3x3iMOM

Alternatively, it is in a lot of old hymn books. Find one that has it in it, and have your church pianist play it for you. I hope she/he can read music!

As a last resort, I can record this myself since I am a church pianist.

Thank you so much for your comments, Ed. It's always thrilling when a family member of a hymn writer visits, especially a hymn as iconic as this one.

If you have any stories behind how your grandmother came to write this amazing hymn we'd love to hear them! :)

God bless,
Steve

Wow, very nice to read all the comments on my Grandmother’s hymn “In Times Like These”, but I’m fine with whatever name you want to call it as long as there is a meaning there for you and Jesus as your Savior. My Aunt Carol Jones Saint is still operating “A Visit With The Jones” out of Erie, Pa and would surely reply to all who write. God Bless, Ed Jones

"In Times Like These" or "The Solid Rock" or whatever the name of it is, it's a very excellent song. My dad is 91 and remembered singing it several years back. It's wonderful.

Jesus is my Solid Rock, am very sure of that by His grace, and I have the Bible, and have determined not to be idle, but purposed to daily serve Him. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah, Amen.

today I saw a creek,an upright tree wtraight across it a fallen tree, forming a perfect cross; next to it was a huge rock with a cleftin the middle at the bottom.
The words to this beautiful hymn came immediately to mind. It was a sacred, beautiful holy and moving experience.
