On the other side of Jordan

Just beyond that crystal stream
There's a mansion in that city
Awaiting me
I'll possess it on that morning
When I rise to sleep no more
I'll be resting on that Hallelujah shore

(Chorus)
I'm waiting in the shadow for that shining angel band
That will come and take me home to that land
On the other side of Jordan
They are waiting there I know
And I'm ready, Lord, I'm ready now to go

On the other side of Jordan
I have friends I long to see
There are loved ones in that city
Waiting me
I'll go walking thru the garden
With that Man of Galilee
Who's the Master of that troubled stormy sea

Here's the Paul Williams version.  And if you haven't been to see him at a gospel or bluegrass concert, drop everything and go!  He and his Victory Trio are the best.

The Other Side of Jordan
(Paul Williams and the Victory Trio)

Instrumental lead-in

I was standing by the bedside of a dear old saint of God
Who so soon would pass to cross old Jordan’s tide
When she called me to her bedside and she whispered soft and low
Will you make me just one promise my dear child?

Will you meet me on the other side of Jordan?
Where I know we’ll live with Jesus on that shore
Will you meet me on the other side of Jordan?
Once we’re gathered there we’ll never part no more

Instrumental

Oh so swiftly friends and loved ones pass away from this domain
God has called us home to live eternally
Better make your preparation for the journey to that land
There’s no way to know who will the next one be

Will you meet me on the other side of Jordan
Where I know we’ll live with Jesus on that shore
Will you meet me on the other side of Jordan
Once we’re gathered there we’ll never part no more

Once we’re gathered there we’ll never part no more

I found this in a hymn book printed in 2005

On the other side of Jordan
Just beyond the shining strand
I’ll be resting in the beauty of that land
I’ll go walking through the garden
With the Man of Galilee
He’s the master of the troubled stormy sea

I am waiting in the shadows
For that shining angel band
They will come and take me home to that land
On the other side of Jordan
They are waiting there I know
And I’m ready, Lord, I’m ready, now to go

On the other side of Jordan
There’s so much I want to see
There’s a mansion in that city awaiting me
I’ll possess it on that morning
When I rise to weep no more
I’ll be living on that everlasting shore

On the other side of Jordan
There are loved ones waiting me,
Who so often I am longing now to see
They are waiting for my coming
When my race on earth is run
And the angels carry me across the sea

I will set down by the river
With my loved ones over there
And there won’t be any worry, toils, or care
And we’ll praise our Blessed Savior
When we reach that happy land
And we always will be happy over there

Yes, we always will be happy over there

Verse 1
On the other side of Jordan, just beyond that shining strand,
I’ll be resting in the beauty of that land;
I’ll go walking through the garden with that man of galiee,
He’s the master of that troubled, stormy sea.

Verse 2
On the other side of Jordan, there’s so much I want to see,
There’s a mansion in that city awaiting me;
I’ll posses it on that morning,
When I rise to weep no more;
I’ll be living on that everlasting shore.

Verse 3
On the other side of Jordan, I have friends I long to see,
I have loved ones in that city, awaiting me;
They are resting from their labors,
They are free from all their care;
They are parted from the burden of their years.

Chorus
I’m waiting in the shadows for that shining angel band,
That will come and take me home to that land;
On the other side of Jordan, they are waiting there I know,
And I’m ready, Lord I’m ready, now to go.

These are the word my dad and grandmother have been using for years hope that its what you are looking for

Here is this amazing song here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZvnJv4CZQ8   -- But who is singing?

On the other side of Jordan
Just beyond that shining strand
I’ll be resting in the beauty of that land
I’ll go walking through the garden
With that  Man from Galilee
There's the master of life's troubled stormy seas

I'll be waiting in the shadows
For that shining angel band
That will come and take me home to that land
On the other side of Jordan
They are waiting there I know
And I’m ready, Lord, I’m ready, now to go

On the other side of Jordan
I have friends I long to see
I have loved ones in that city awaiting me
They are resting from their labors
They are free from all their cares
They are parted from the burdens of the years

I'll be waiting in the shadows
For that shining angel band
That will come and take me home to that land
On the other side of Jordan
They are waiting there I know
And I’m ready, Lord, I’m ready, now to go

On the other side of Jordan
they are waiting there I know
and I'm ready, Lord, I'm ready now to go...
