Looking for words to The Land of the Living
Posted:  27 Oct 2006 05:55
Dear kygirl, Here is one of several songs with the title "Land Of The Living". Hope this is the version you are looking for.

Land Of The Living
Before you Lord, I now renew my vow
I'll follow you until I reach your house
I'm giving my life for
The life you're giving Lord

I'm living for the land of the living
My hunger only knows
The Bread of Life
Your table always entertains my eyes

All of me is zealous for you
All of me is yours

Savedbygrace, Thanks but that was not the one I was looking for.  This song was done by the Singing Cookes a few years ago.  I was told that it has been done by The Perrys.  Some of the words are, "It's the land of life, where living is forever.  Where the sting of death will claim no victory"

The Cathedrals recorded it.

I.
There's a place of dazzling beauty
No human eye has ever seen
With gates of pearl and streets paved with gold
It's a land of milk and honey
Oh, it's more than just a dream
It's a land of life beyond the crystal sea

Cho.
And it's a land of life where living is forever
Where the sting of death will claim no victory
And we are nothing more than just a passing shadow
'Till we reach the land of living beyond the crystal sea

II.
The sun is nothing but a legend in this paradise of dreams
The Lamb will be the only light we'll need
It's soothing walls of jasper built by God's own hand
It's a land of life beyond the crystal sea

I am also searching for this song but I've found that it is also called "Beyond the Crystal Sea".  I have gotten more responses from this title, but still have not been able to obtain the lyrics or music.  If you find them please let me know.     Thanks.

Looking for the lyrics Earth's Loss Heaven's Gain

Earths Loss, Heavens Gain

“Register here”  sign reads  the parlor
Two songs were her request for me to sing
I stopped and told the family how I loved her
And I was sorry the death angel came
All the flowers that were sent, she didn’t see them
Then the sermon was preached after I sang
All the friends that dropped by, it didn’t matter
What earth lost yesterday, Heaven gained

Chorus
Look what’s happening in Heaven
A cheer went up as she walked through the gate
And the change in her, what a difference
Why, she’s as young and beautiful as a babe
Guess who’s got His arms around her
And He just wiped the last tear from her eyes
He said “child welcome home forever
Come and rest by the River Of Life”

She never had earths treasures, she didn’t want them
Just to provide for her family, nothing more
She often talked about her home in Heaven
She’d been so longing for
She said, when I leave this world don’t be crying
For to me it will be a stepping stone
And when I close my eyes to sleep for the last time
I’ll step out of this world, I’ll be home

Chorus

redhot752@aol.com here is the words to he rolls me over the tide:
When old steven was accused
lonely and bewildered no one
that day would stand by his side
he just looked into Heaven and
he saw the face of Jesus and he rolled
him over the tide

Chorus:
Well, I've never said a prayer that he could not answer and I've never shed a tear that he could not dry. Now when the waves of life are so high that you can't mount I know he'll roll you over the tide.

When the world is closing in and my life becomes a burden I want to run but there's no place to hide. I'll just look like ole Steven to the right hand of my father and he'll roll me over the tide.

Repeat chorus

Posted:  22 Feb 2009 20:12
THERE AIN'T NO GRAVE

                        I

WELL GO DOWN YONDER GABRIEL
PUT YOUR FOOT ON LAND AND SEA
BUT GABRIEL DON'T YOU BLOW THAT TRUMPET
UNTIL YOU HEAR FROM ME
I LOOKED WAY OVER YONDER
WHAT DO YOU THINK I SEEN
I SAW A BAND OF ANGELS
THEY WERE COMING AFTER ME

                   CHORUS

WELL THERE AIN'T NO GRAVE
GONNA HOLD MY BODY DOWN
THERE AIN'T NO GRAVE
GONNA HOLD MY BODY DOWN
WHEN I HERE THAT TRUMPET SOUND
GONNA GET UP OUT OF THE GROUND
CAUSE THERE AIN'T NO GRAVE
GONNA HOLD MY BODY DOWN

                   II

GO DOWN TO THE RIVER JORDAN
PUT MY KNEES DOWN IN THE SAND
GONNA HOLLER HALLELUJAH
TILL I REACH THAT PROMISED LAND
WELL MEET ME JESUS MEET ME
MEET ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AIR
AND IF THESE WINGS SHOULD FAIL ME
I WON'T NEED ANOTHER PAIR

You can go directly to the web site for the singing cookes at www.singingcookes.com and purchase their CD's and DVD's and much more. If your in Kentucky  you can get most of their older stuff at the London Flea Market at the booth next to the food court. I hope this helps. God Bless you too. Ain't God Good?
