I Want Jesus More Than Anything
by Don Marsh

I want Jesus in my life
More than anything this world can offer me
For I know that He alone can satisfy
Just to know His leading in my life
Is worth everything that I might sacrifice
Oh I want Jesus more than anything

So take the fame that I might want
And all the things that seem so dear
I’d rather have Him than any praise
That men may give to me
I want Him to have control
And be the breath of life in me
I’d rather have Jesus
I’d rather Him more than anything

This isn't the complete song.  I used to play the Don Marsh choral arrangement in high school.  I remember a second verse that ends:

Then one day I saw him all alone
On a road to death and untold agony
Oh, I want Jesus more than anything

and a special ending:

As I go on through life with Him
There can be no other way
I want Jesus -- more than anything
I want Jesus

this is what i have on my tape. i am interested of who is singing on my tape , but i don't know how i can know it.

use this blessed song

I want Jesus in my life
More than anything this world can offer me
For I know that He alone can satisfy
Just to know His leading in my life
Is worth everything that I might sacrifice
Oh I want Jesus more than anything

Take the fame that I might want
And all the things that seem so dear
I’d rather have Him than any praise
That men may give to me
I want Him to have control
And be the breath of life in me
I’d rather have Jesus
I’d rather have Him than anything

He had power without end
From the heavens He rule the univers
Countless angels waited on His every call
But one day I saw Him all alone
On a road to death and untold agony
Just for me He suffered, oh, what a price to pay

As I go on through life with Him
There can be no other way
I want Jesus
I want Jesus
Oh, I want Jesus more than anything

BTW, since you did so well with that request -- I am also looking for lyrics to a hymn from the same timeframe that may have been named "Calvary".

"Calvary... that's the place where Jesus bled and died "that's all I know.  I think it was either by the group Truth or by a small group called Sound Alliance.  Does anyone ever heard of them or have the song titles from that record?

not sure but i'd love to find that song also- i think it was a male duet-

Calvary, that's the place where Jesus bled and died,

... that's the day my Lord was crucified.
