Keep Me Sanctified

Here sometimes my load is so hard to carry,
And it seems my cross I cannot bear
When I've tried so hard, and I've been such a failure
Whatever I do, whatever I say
Keep me sanctified.

Keep me sanctified when the storm clouds gather
When the battle gets rough and the way seems hard
When I've tried so hard and I've been such a failure
Whatever I do, whatever I say, keep me sanctified.

When the messenger came to old Job one evening
He said to him, "Job, all your children have died."
Then we hear Job say, "Though God slay me, I'll trust Him."
He lost everything that he ever had gained, but stayed sanctified.

When my work done here on earth is ended
I'll rest forever right by my Saviour's side.
I'll praise His name forever and ever
For the way the He has always stood by me and kept me sanctified.

This is how I have sung this song for 50+ years.

Lord bless,

Hi Mercedes,

My dad has been singing this song in our prayer meetings for years. Do you know who wrote it?

No, I'm sorry. I don't know. I'll see what I can find out, though.

Hi Mercedes,
My daughter asked that  question above about trying to find out who wrote this hymn. As she said, her dad, ny husband, has been singing it for years. I have looked over the internet and followed up on some possible 'leads'. No results. If anyone knows who wrote  "Keep Me Sanctified", please contact ttraughber@bellsouth.net.

I believe I have that song on Buck Rambo's Country Gospel album.  I will check to verify and see if the songwriter is listed on the cover's credits.

Thanks, Mercedes! I looked up 'Buck Rambo" , and spent about an hour or so looking around, but still haven't found who wrote "Keep Me Sanctified".   Hoping to find something soon.

I heard this song years ago and it was always in the back of my mind. Everytime trouble was at my door I would remember this song. Now that I got the words I'll sing it for the rest of my life in church and prayer meetings and on my prayer time. Bless you for the words David George
