They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength
They shall mount up with wings of eagles
They shall run and not be weary
They shall walk and not faint.
Teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait.

Here are a couple more of the lyrics:

They that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary;
They will walk and not faint.
Teach me, Lord; teach me, Lord, to wait.

Teach me, Lord, to wait down on my knees
Till in your own good time you answer my pleas.
Teach me not to rely on what others do
But to wait in prayer for the answer from you.

I believe the name of the song is "They Who Wait" by Ken Totushek. You can get his CD herehttp://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=namethathymnl-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;.

God bless,
Steve

Teach me, Lord, to wait while hearts are a flame.
Help me humble myself and call on Your name.
Keep my faith renewed my eyes on Thee.
Help me be on this earth what You want me to be.

Steve, I believe this song was written by Stuart Hamblen, not 100%, but I think it was

Yes, that's true- Stuart Hamblen wrote it. Some of his music , including this one, was featured in one of the Gaither videos oh, maybe 9 years ago? Widow Suzie was present and singing a bit. Great feature!

Thanks for having the rest of the words to this great song.  We can't let songs '
like this one disappear as so many have done because some churches think
they have no relavance today. (Hope I spelled that correct.)
     Thanks again,

This is a truly significant hymn using Biblical truths and teachings.  I live in Australia, but often visit Vanuatu and live in Pango Village, Efate Island.
In that little Pacific nation of islands, all life revolves around their church, they have a great passion for their Lord.  At Pango Presbyterian the older women usually arrive quite early for worship and to prepare themselves and others the women will sing this hymn without any accompanying instruments.  They sing this from the heart with harmonious voices, so moving.  My son Cameron recently married Marianne Sokomanu at Mele Village Presbyterian Vanuatu and chose this as one of their hymns for the service.  S McLeod, Western Australia

Thanks a lot for the Lyrics of the hymn

We sang this at Solusi Adventist University some years ago with The Royal Brothers. Our second stanza went as follows:
Lift your eyes upon the hills,
See the wonders of creation,
It is God who brings all in numbers,
Bow thou down and worship Him,
Great is He whom I've believed,
Teach me Lord,
Teach me Lord to pray.

Teach Me Lord To Wait

Teach me Lord to wait
Down on my knees.
Help humble my pride
Answer my pleas.
Teach me not to rely
On what others do,
But to wait in prayer
For an answer from you.

Those who wait upon the Lord
Shall renew their strength.
They shall mount up with wings like eagles.
They shall run and not be weary.
They shall walk and not faint.
Teach me Lord, Teach me Lord, to wait.

Teach me Lord to wait
While hearts are aflame.
Help me humble my pride
And call on Your name.
Keep my mind renewed
Keep my eyes on the Thee.
Help me be on earth
What you want me to be.

Those who wait upon the Lord
Shall renew their strength.
They shall mount up with wings like eagles.
They shall run and not be weary.
They shall walk and not faint.
Teach me Lord, Teach me Lord, to wait.

There’s a time and a season
For all things.
You promised in Your Word
To answer my pleas.
I’m crying to You, Lord
To grant sweet relief
Oh, God
Remove all unbelief.

Those who wait upon the Lord
Shall renew their strength.
They shall mount up with wings like eagles.
They shall run and not be weary.
They shall walk and not faint.
Teach me Lord, Teach me Lord, to wait.

There's a song similar to this that I'm looking for. I has a lot of pauses like this song, but the lyrics are something like this:

I've got to talk right and walk right and sing right and act right.... for Jesus

i am looking for the lyrics for the song that is called " for they that wait upon the  Lord"

i only know the chorus which goes like,

for they that wait upon  the Lord shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings, they shall mount up with wings as eagles.
they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint,
they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint
they shall run and not be weary shall walk and not faint.

Ho reapers of the whitened harvest
Of feeble faint and few
Come wait upon the blessed master
Our strength he will renew

Cho. for they that wait upon  the Lord shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings, they shall mount up with wings as eagles.
they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint,
they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint
they shall run and not be weary shall walk and not faint.

Rejoice for he is with us always
Lo! even to the end
Walk up, take courage and go forward
All needed grace he'll send

Hard fighting soldiers

I am a hard fighting soldier, on the battlefield
I am a hard fighting soldier, on the battlefield
I am a hard fighting soldier, on the battlefield
I keep on bringin souls to Jesus
By the service that I give

I’ve got a helmet on my head, in my hand a sword and shield
I’ve got a helmet on my head, in my hand a sword and shield
I’ve got a helmet on my head, in my hand a sword and shield
I keep on bringin souls to Jesus
By the service that I give

You gotta walk right, talk right, sing right, pray right, on the battlefield
You gotta walk right, talk right, sing right, pray right, on the battlefield
You gotta walk right, talk right, sing right, pray right, on the battlefield
I keep on bringin souls to Jesus
By the service that I give

I am a hard fighting soldier, on the battlefield
I am a hard fighting soldier, on the battlefield
I am a hard fighting soldier, on the battlefield
I keep on bringin souls to Jesus
I keep bringin souls to Jesus
We keep bringin souls to Jesus
By the service that we give

Here are the 2nd and 3rd verses to this song.

We are waiting blessed Master for another Pentecost
We have waited til our hearts have grown weary, oh yes
Let the winds flow fresh from Heaven, Let the promise be given
Teach us Lord, teach us Lord, how to wait, Master teach us how to wait.

Like Elijah on the mountain, like Joshua at Jericho
We are waiting, we are watching, we are praying for evermore
Like Job in his affliction, let us wait until our change shall come
Teach us Lord, teach us Lord, how to wait, Master teach us how to wait.

Hi, my name is Paul-Wesley Bowen.  I met Stuart Hamblen who wrote the song “They That Wait Upon the Lord”.  I see above a mixture of his song and verses and a few from others.
To hear him doing just one verse, and to hear how the song sounded as he sung it, go to the youtube url http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH11gkKqfWQ
or listen to the Gaither Homecoming doing it at the url
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTP7Jxc_Kpg
At the youtube url http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgnAl8WwquY
you will see both verses and the chorus, just not sung, and played a little "lively" to his original rendition.
Stuart was an old time genuine cowboy who lived in Hollywood and his story of salvation is a real testimony to God's reaching in and pulling someone into His kingdom.  Others of his songs were "It Is No Secret", and "This Old House", which became a top hit on the public charts.  The song was taken from a real life experience, and the writing of it was the beginning of a miraculous journey of faith where he learned to trust God in everything.
