The song is entitled "Rejoice, With Exceeding Great Joy" and our choir is going to sing it for a call to worship this coming Sunday Morning.
I'll see if I can get the music to post.  The Gaither Homecoming Group sings it on one of their Christmas Videos.

Oh, When they saw the star, they rejoiced with great joy (3X)
The rejoiced with exceeding great joy great joy great joy

O'er mountains and valleys it led them each night
A star of most radiant light
and so the wise men rejoiced as they journeyed afar
to behold such a beautiful star

Oh, When they saw the star, they rejoiced with great joy (3X)
The rejoiced with exceeding great joy great joy great joy

The star shone bright giving wondrous light
It led those three kings to a holy child

One bright day I saw in rich array
Three mighty kings and all their court go marching marching
one bright day, these kings in rich array
beheld a star that shone from far away
they rejoiced with exceeding great joy great joy great joy

Does anybody have the songwriter or know where the sheetmusic can be found?  We sang this years ago in a cantata, I believe.

We heard it for the first time at a Christmas Concert at the nursing home where my mother is a patient.  The local church choir sang it.  Love it....

It is written by Lanny Wolfe..and The Martins sing it on the Gaithers Homecoming South Africa Concert...Hope this helps..but the words that they sing are not quite the same as what is written above

The Martins did sing it.  Here are the lyrics:

O'er mountains and valleys
It led them each night
As star of most radiant light
The wise men rejoiced
As they journeyed afar
To behold such a beautiful star

When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced

When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy

When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced

When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy

Others saw the star
But they followed it not
To them it would come
And would pass

The wise men kept  trusting
With all of their hearts
That the star would find
The baby at last

When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced

When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy

When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced

When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy

When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced

When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy

Great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy

God Bless!

Some one told me it was a old Lanny Wolfe song. I don't have the music for it, but would love to have the sheet music if anyone knows where I could buy it.

I remember this was a song we played in orchestra too. The "One bright day, I saw in rich array" part was a march. Does anyone remember the name of that?
