This song from when my grandmother was alive, keeps playing in my head. I can see the lady singing it in the choir my grandma belong to a long time ago but dont recall all words. Here's what I do recall and would love help filling in the missing info. Thank you all.

Please master, hasten to our rescue
We are so burdened, and so, so all alone
Please Lord, don't leave us, don't leave us alone, no, no, no
But we must, put our trust in God.

Step by step, We'll make this journey
Even though, our way seems hard, hard, hard
Step by step, We'll make this journey
But we must, put our trust in God

Please Master, hasten to our rescue
we are so burdened and oppressed
Please Lord, don't leave us here all alone
In this dark hour of distress.

(The chorus is correct)

I was in choir back in the 70's and we used this song as our march in song.  It's called "Step By Step"  "Please master hasten..." was used as the lead vocals and for our choir it was sung by Raymond Kennedy.
