Guest - here's the words to your song -
The song is called "There's Just Something About that Name." It goes:
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
There's just something about that name
Master, Savior, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Let all heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms shall all pass away
But there's something about that name.

Is that the full song?

Yes, this is the full song. Lyrics are by Bill and Gloria Gaither.

There are words spoken between singing the verse twice.  The words say I have seen a mother whisper that name beside her child delirous with fever, a saint using their dying breath to sound out, Jesus.  It concludes by saying "you know there is something about that name.

Does someone have the words spoken between the the verses?  I'd appreciate receiving them and having them forwarded to the following email address of mine,  esormin@rogers.com

I would also like the spoken words to that song.  The words are "I have seen a mother whisper that name beside her child delirous with fever..."  I know the chorus that you sing I would really like this part of the song though. You can e-mail me at awatson81@msn.com

Here are the words you're looking for:

Jesus, the mere mention of His name can calm the storm, heal the broken, raise the dead. At the name of Jesus, I've seen sin-hardened men melted, derelicts transformed, the lights of hope put back into the eyes of a hopeless child...

At the name of Jesus, hatred and bitterness turned to love and forgiveness, arguments cease.

I've heard a mother softly breathe His name at the bedside of a child delirious with fever, and I've watched that little body grow quiet and the fevered brow cool.

I've say beside a dying saint, her body racked with pain, who in those final fleeting seconds summoned her last ounce of ebbing strength to whisper earth's sweetest name--Jesus, Jesus...

Emperors have tried to destroy it; philosophies have tried to stamp it out. Tyrants have tried to wash it from the face of the earth with the very blood of those who claimed it. Yet still it stands.

And there shall be that final day when every voice that has ever uttered a sound--every voice of Adam's race shall raise in one great mighty chorus to proclaim the name of Jesus--for in that day "every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!!!"

Ah--so you see--it was not mere chance that caused the angel one night long ago to say to a virgin maiden, "His name shall be called Jesus." Jesus--Jesus--Jesus. You know, there is something about that name...

The beautiful words are written by Bill and Gloria Gaither. They are copyrighted, and provided here for educational purposes only. If you wish to use this in a performance or publication, please purchase a copy of the song.

Accompaniment CD with Lyrics

Also, I believe SheetMusicPlus.com has scores and complilations you can purchase online.

Hope it helps!

Oh God Bless you all,

Back in the 70's as a small country church, the youth choir would sing this song, and my brother would do the recitation as we continued to hum the chorus.

I didn't think I would ever find these words again.  I've been thinking about this song for the past several weeks, and while playing The Cathedrals on Yahoo Music, they did the chorus.  It was as though it was a sign to look on the internet.

Site after site only had the chorus, and I was about to give up in discouragement, until I hit this site.

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you,
God Bless you all,

While in church today, I sat quietly near the organist and began to softly sing to myself, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. The organist was playing something else and overheard me singing quietly to myself and he started playing extremely softly along with me.  The pastor was introducing the assistant pastor to bring the Sunday morning message.  All at once, the pastor became overcome by the Holy Spirit and started shouting and praising the Lord. The congregation started singing, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! There's just something about that name!  And the Holy Spirit took control and there was bedlam in the place.  People were rejoicing, shouting and praising the Lord.  It took everything we had to calm down and hear the message.  After the message, I stood to take the offering and starting singing softly, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus . . . And it started all over again. People were shouting and praising the Lord again. The pastor asked us to stop singing so that we could calm down and get some order in the service.  What a mighty God we serve!

I sung this song in church as a child. I had not heard it or sung again until my children were very small. One night God put this song on my heart and I sang it for my daughter. It became here favorite song at bedtime. She was killed in  car accident 9 years ago. Now my seven year old and four year ask me to sing it to them almost every night. This song is very powerful.

I'm looking for the lyrics to the song sung, I believe, by Jimmy Swaggart called "He'll Calm Your Storm" or similar title.  I think it starts out with "I was out on life's sea" as far as I can remember.

It is a beautiful song.  My Father was dying from cancer, and before he took his last breath I was holding his hand and singing it softly to him.  He left this world in peace to be with God.  I will never forget that day on June 4th 2007

I need some help.  My Pastor emailed me today and ask me to select some praise songs, choruses or hymns for Sunday.  The message will be on the authority that Jesus has given us.....I thought about that song, There's something about that name......but I also thought about Jesus, Name Above All Names and then go into Take The Name of Jesus With You....I don't know.
I also thought about Greater Is He That Is In Me than He That Is In the World...
Do you have any ideas that you can share with me?

I dont believe anyone sung that song better than Danny Gaither.

This comes a little late for you but perhaps you might  have use for this in the future.
Luke 10:19
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all  power of the enemy: and nothing by any means , nothing by any means shall hurt you.

I am looking for the words to the wonderful song "I've Just Seen Jesus."  I have the music to it by Anthony Burger.  It has some background words but I am not able to understand them.  Yet, the song is so beautiful, I would love to know the words.  Thank you

This is Ruth Moore again.  My email address is bnaishalomreborn@aol.com.  I live in Jerusalem, Israel and listen to all the Gaither Music every chance I get.  I have many of your albums.  Another song that I would love to have is "These Are They Which Have Come Out of Great Tribulation."  What wonderful and inspirational all of your songs are.  God bless you.

Here's a second verse that I wrote to 'There's something about that name".
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Oh how I remember that day                                                        copyrighted
Master,  Savior, Jesus
From the cross the tomb where you lay
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
The words you spoke to me
Yes I died, just so you
Could from sin claim victory

And by his blood I've been set free
By the blood he shed for me
By the blood of my precious Jesus
I've been made whole
And by his blood I've been set free
by the blood he shed for me
By the blood of my precious jesus
I've been set free

Does anyone know who the group is that sang "Something About that Name" in the early nineties on CMT?  They did an awesome job

I need the lyrics for
Jesus Just The Mention of your name
Posted:  02 Apr 2008 23:00
Jesus, Just the Mention of Your Name

Jesus Just the Mention of Your Name
Jesus Just the mention of your name
Flowers grow and the desert blooms again
Like Fire in winter cold,
Like few precious gold
Jesus Just the Mention of Your Name

Like a lighthouse is to a sailor
In the midst of a midnight storm,
He’s like a harbour to an old ship
That’s been battered and torn,
He’s bread to an empty and starving heart,
And He’s running water
To a souls that’s parched,
Jesus, Just the Mention of Your Name.

Chorus x 2

Like Fire in winter cold,
Like few precious gold
Jesus Just the Mention of Your Name

Jesus, Just the mention of Your name
